Frequently Asked Questions

How does AI technology benefit exoplanet research?

AI technology can benefit exoplanetary research in observational data analysis (e.g. CHEOPS observations), emulating large-scale numerical models (e.g. transformer-based generative model) and numerical simulation analysis (e.g. Random Forest Classifier for Earth-like planet detection). Learn more in the Research page.

What sets ai4exoplanets apart from other research groups?

We focus mainly on numerical simulations, either to interpret existing observations (CHEOPS, Radial Velocity), or to optimise futur observational surveys (e.g. LIFE).

About us

ai4exoplanets is a pioneering research group based in Bern, Switzerland, dedicated to using artificial intelligence to explore the mysteries of exoplanets and the possibility of life beyond Earth.

The research group is funded by the NCCR PlanetS, the Center for Space and Habitability, the University of Bern and the European Research Council
